💚Mental Health & Wellbeing at Moore Primary School

At Moore Primary School, we are dedicated to developing the whole child—educationally, emotionally, spiritually, morally, and physically. We recognise that caring for a child's mental health and wellbeing is just as vital as their academic journey, and we empower our students with the knowledge to make healthy choices.

🌟 Our Commitment & Expertise

We prioritise mental health with a dedicated, trained team and proven frameworks:

  • Senior Mental Health Lead: Mrs McWatt oversees and directs the school's comprehensive wellbeing strategy.

  • Trained Staff: Mrs Taylor - Mental Health First Aider & Thrive Practitioner.  Mrs Campbell - ELSA & Thrive Practioner.  Mrs Stokes - Mental Health First Aider.  Mrs Shaw - ELSA.  Mrs Watcham - ELSA. Mrs Beever - Thrive Practitioner. Ensuring immediate, skilled support is available.

  • Accreditation: We proudly achieved the MAHRS Award (Marsh Awards for Mental Health Peer Support) in 2019, demonstrating our excellence and commitment to mental health provision.

📚 Curriculum & Enrichment for Wellbeing

  • School Health initiatives, including dental care.
  • Healthy eating education integrated into Design Technology (DT) and Science.

Physical & Outdoor Activities:

  • The Daily Mile to promote physical activity.
  • Forest School education.
  • Bike-ability training.
  • A wide range of after-school enrichment activities including sports, music, and computing.

We believe that by investing in our children’s mental health and providing a nurturing environment, we help them to thrive in all areas of their lives.
