This page gives an overview on what will be happening in your child's class this year.

What happens and when
Book Bags:
Could we ask for all book bags to be brought into school everyday. Although we will be changing books on Fridays, the book bags are used to carry letters home. Could you please try to read with your child for about ten minutes each night. Could you then comment on their response to the story and if they enjoyed it.
Homework:
In Reception the children’s homework will include reading, handwriting and phonic activities such as word wallets to learn. Please could you share a story with your child everyday to encourage the enjoyment of books and reading.
Named Clothing:
Could you please ensure that all clothing including coats are labelled/named. This makes life much easier for us in identifying items and returning them to the correct child.
PE:
The children will have PE on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings, but it is best if PE kits are left in school for the half term in case of unforeseen changes. Could you encourage your child to learn to get dressed and undressed by themselves in order to speed up the changing process in the classroom. Also practise putting on coats and fastening them ready for the onset of the cold weather.
