SEND in the Curriculum

All children are unique and learn in different ways. The different needs of individuals are central to the planning and implementation of our curriculum. Our curriculum therefore intends to:

  • Match the demands of a national curriculum to the needs of the individual
  • Recognise that most children need additional support at some point in their education and all pupils should feel valued for their achievements at whatever level they are working at
  • Ensure equal access and equal opportunities for all
  • Be flexible with teaching approaches, classroom organisation and resources
  • Encourage pupils to be actively involved in their own learning journey
  • Give pupils experience of working independently
