Mental Health & Well Being in children

At Moore Primary, we aim to develop the whole child educationally, emotionally, spiritually, morally and physically. As well as caring for their education, we also care for their mental health and wellbeing, giving children the knowledge to make healthy choices about their diet and lifestyle.

In order to ensure this is a high priority we have two staff trained as Mental Health First Aiders and a Senior Mental Health Lead. As we strive for excellence in this area we have successfully gained the MAHRS Award in 2019. The range of experiences available to all children includes:

  • PSHE lessons in Health and Wellbeing
  • Halton Healthy Schools: Fit4life, drug and alcohol education, first aid, smoking education
  • wellness sessions-Sean Bailey
  • School health-dental care
  • Bike-ability
  • Junior Safety Officers
  • Healthy eating in DT and Science
  • Range of after-school enrichment activities including sports, music, computing and  competitions
  • Forest school education
  • Daily mile
